Las Cazuelitas - Crystal Lake

Old School Mexican Restaurant, Flavors, took me back to the tastes I haven't experienced in 20 years! I absolutely enjoyed the chips and spicy salsa they brought to our table after we placed our orders. I usually prefer milder flavors, but the heat of the salsa reminded me of the bold intensity you find at places like Pinstripes in the Arboretum of South Barrington. I was pleasantly surprised to discover this hidden gem in Crystal Lake. It brought back such wonderful memories that I can’t wait to return for a second visit. I've been to countless Mexican restaurants, but none have reminded me of my childhood like this one. I highly recommend this place to everyone, and I can't wait to return with friends next time!

I visited the restaurant for the first time tonight based on some recommendations. I wasn't quite sure what to order, but the extensive menu was very impressive. I simply asked if they had Al Pastor, and I ended up going with the burrito plate in the suizo style. The meal started with chips served alongside pico de gallo, a green tomatillo sauce, and ceviche. I rounded off the evening with an El Modelo to wash it all down. It was an epic dinner! I left feeling full and even took half of my meal home. I will definitely be back!

The food was absolutely delightful. The staff was very personable and attentive. Our party had at least 10 people, and everyone loved their dishes. I tried the seafood served in a pineapple, which was fresh and incredibly flavorful. We give it five stars!

My wife and I just had dinner. Why do you have a taco or a burrito or a tostada when you get a real decent traditional Mexican food! Just go there and order the Pollo Asado....

Shrimp Ceviche, Shrimp Empanadas, Cazuelitas and grilled meats to die for are my favorites so far.
