The place is very beautiful. eating is delicious with traditional Spanish taste. it is most in santa fe.
The entrance is grand but the restaurant decoration is beigely generic, with absolutely no atmosphere and gives no clue that the menu is that of any Spanish fonda. We all enjoyed the jamon serrano, the croquetas tasted of reused oil but weren't bad, my son-in-law...loved his octopus, as did my daughter her steak and my Comadre, her Paella, but all in all we were underwhelmed by the experience and wouldn't go back.
If you happen to do business in the Santa Fe district of Mexico City, the Guria is an excellent choice for a good business lunch, or dinner. Very spacious, high ceilings, well decorated. A not too large menu with a good choice of dishes, mainly...Spanish cuisine. I had lightly fried whole calamares as a starter and an excellent fish dish, followed by an excellent Flan dessert. The wine list is large, covering not only Mexican wines but also a good choice of Argentinean, Chilean and European wines. Prices seemed higher than for a comparable high end restaurant in the older parts of town, but the quality-price relation was good.
De lo mejor de los restaurantes españoles en México.
