Feedback gevenFirst a short note: the name is la cocina de san juan, and the address is ernesto pugibet 21. this and the other reviews are about the same location now for review. mexiko is proud of his culinary history. if they are lucky, a restaurant...or two in their city can find a court of chapulines (great, but the creepy diner will find nothing else. So if you finally make it to Mexico City, you'll probably catch the whole thing you can. one of the best places to do this is in la cocina de san juan, near the metro juarez (linea 3 . a beautiful small neighbourhood with exotic twist. they can start with their escamoles slowly. delicious and fun to eat. but then begin to become adventurous: go for the gusanos blancos. (these are the mottenlarven that they could see in a bottle imported mezcal. they are absolutely wonderful and became my favorites. and then? to the really exotic things: a tarantula! it is the most expensive thing on the menu (over the half of the total, and I don't know if they get a lot of items for it. I think they had to go to nearby mercenaries where they sell such things. let me tell them it was crispy, but not really tasteful in any way of the word. it is “dark”, but I could be biased because its color is on the taco. fortunately, the best was saved for the last: the accompaniment! it was tasty and tenderer crisp than the spine. I would never strike a scorpion in the future! for what is a scorpion, really, except a land based lobster (if it had a soft dish? denizens of new orleans and aficianados of cancer, I am sure to get it. the mezcal de la casa was delicious, and the dark bohemia beer helped wash the little legs. In summary, life is too short, they will only regret the things they do not.
Exotic food made for everyone, they have different menus every day or a la carte. excellent price, I would pay twice. it is worth noting that the chef john paul ii. personal cook was when the papst traveled to mexiko. I came to Mexico City to eat chaos. this restaurant showed up online as the closest place I was in centro historico. I would definitely not go so far that it was the best food I had in mexiko. Actually, I could not eat a lot of the exotic insect plate, but I was so glad that I had the opportunity to try at least those crumbs. the first and last time!
