I don't eat meat, but have tried the eggplant parmesan, tagliatelle with vegetable sauce, the homemade spaghetti and the gnocchi (with marinara, pesto and four cheese sauce). Everything was cooked perfectly and delicious. My husband is a meat eater. He likes the chicken parmesan and pork chop (cotoletta alla milense) best always with oven potatoes. The homemade bread is to die for. And the desserts are always different and amazingly good. The owner, from Modena, Italy, is always very friendly and attentive. He makes wonderful food and loves to see people enjoying it. This is our absolute favorite restaurant in Cuenca!
If you want to experience real Italian cooking (proprio Italiano), you have to try Salumeria Vecchia Modena (Juan Jaramillo 8-21 y Luis Cordero). Chef Massimo makes all his own pasta and sausage. Today we visited for 'pranzo ' (almuerzo) and had Tortelloni (ricotta y spinach), bruschetta, and antipasta with fresh baked Italian bread (piadina flatbread). Chef Massimo delivers to your table his masterpieces and the prices are amazing with perfect portion sizes. There 's nothing like fresh homemade pasta! E stato un piacere, Chef Massimo! Oh, did I mention they have 'pie de manzana ' to die for! Mille grazie ,Massimo! I give five stars for food, presentation, atmosphere, and great service! Marco y Concetta
