The taste is not unforgettable, it could use some extra seasonal to make it pop. Quality of meat seems to be good, but taste is a certain undertone and not a belly-running type of showstopper. The presentation is well done, it preps the taste buds for Nirvana and leaves you in the lobby. The card is pretty sexy.
Cuero is a small Texas oil town, so I expected a Texas Roadhouse style steakhouse when I was here yesterday. I was pretty surprised to find a lot of fancier. I immediately felt out of place when I entered, as I noticed that everyone was wearing formal clothes. My daughter and I had just come out of the playground, so I wore shorts and a tea, and my daughter had sand in her hair and saw Loke, who she saw for the leading role in Lord of the Flies. Regardless of our appearance, we were greeted with a smile and immediately sit by a friendly host. I was glad I didn't bring my whole family. The menu is not child-friendly and we would have to go home if I had brought all my children, because I simply had to sign my car title to pay the bill. Because it was just my daughter and I, we did it. I ordered her the Cheeseburger and Pommes, and I had a shrimp salad. Both meals were delicious (I also tried a bit the Cheeseburger). I'd definitely come back here, but probably only with my wife....and next time I'll wear pants.
We had a great experience here. The restaurant was uncut, the waiting staff was very friendly, and the New York stripe was delicious. The portions were large, shaking both the mentioned and the potatoes and the meat was properly thought and cooked exactly as we ordered it
I love the atmosphere, service and food. All are top notch. Quality food and friendly. If something isn't right rarely) they will make it right and do whatever is necessary to accommodate you. Love the live music that starts every spring. Shorts are acceptable attire. A nice relaxing and enjoyable experience.
Crystal Gomez is doing things in Cuero that we can’t even find in the big cities. There is no premade frozen chicken fried steak folks; she trims cuts pounds and hand breads a huge CFD that looks like steak in a wonderful breading with incredible gravy. But let me get to the reason that they use cloth napkins and real tablecloth’s and attentive waiters. This place has some of the best seafood around anywhere. Super light breading on the fried shrimp that lets the shrimp flavor come through. The mac cheese, oh my!, well you just gotta try it. The red snapper oh my goodness the snapper is a huge thick piece of fish that taste like snapper and then is covered in a sauce that you just need a spoon for And included grilled shrimp!! Truly some of the best seafood I’ve ever had. Oh and don’t forget the crab dip. We also had the wedge salad which is why we were just too full to even think about desserts. But next time!
