This is the second time here under Covid19 restrictions, and the first time inside and it is okay; 3g, they check app and Luca, and the distance is sufficient. In mid-November, 50% of local restaurants were closed (holidays); these were not. It is important to say that GoogleMaps and related information are often erroneous in the region. I agree with the fish here, without spices and sauce, is always a bit on the dry side, and no salad either but quality itself was very good, Pommes were also. We found the service (now more Italian than Portuguese) friendly and accommodating (mediated the page late). But next year, when (deo volente) back in Cuxendorf, we can try the little fish box or so again, and the Lloyd anyways because the lack of sauce, spices and salad feels a bit too hard until now.
Lunch in mid-October. Food was quite ok, “Edelfish plate” was good, but the crab soup should have been called “Schrott” soup: The restaurant had a nice place at the port, but the service was not too frying. We were hit without a smile, no humor, and a low attention price was generally OK.
It is impossible to go to Cuxhaven without trying her seafood, and fishery is a good choice to do that. We ordered a fish plate for 2 people and we have 6 pieces of 3 different fish. You were really delicious. We paid 30 euros for our lunch and drinks for 2 people. For this quality it is affordable. The location is nearby parking and it is free. There are outdoor areas and have many tables outside. Compared to Hamburg, this is very relaxing. Sometimes busy when there are too many cars.
Among the many fish restaurants in the harbor area, this is one that I would recommend. It is a German rather than Portuguese one in looks, but in substance it is Lusitanian as well (and why not; means nicer staff - Cuxhaven is one of the main Portuguese fishing and fish processing ports, incl. for bacalhao). Here, prices are fair, fish is good, the open kitchen does allow for quality and hygiene control, and our food was between good and great. € 20 for 3 types of fried fish (all great), boiled potatoes (very good) with hollandaise (from the tetrapak but good quality) and fried potatoes (good), with € 3.50 for a small carafe of vinho verde (aha!) and I forgot how much for a soft drink is very okay. Typical German waterkant ambiente, friendly staff. Good wait time - of course you always get German whiners who think they wait too long, but geez, it's holidays! and they do one order after the next and the fish is freshly fried, on order. - I also recommend the discount Bahlsen cookie outlet to the right of it; some ("2nd choice") is cheaper, and it's just fun.
Best fish, great prices!!! Waiting took some time, but the food was absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!
