Stopped here on a long trip to Maine. The fried chicken sandwich was the best we've ever had and I believe we've tried them all including Nashville and Memphis and Virginia, Alabama. The rolls and sauce were perfect. This owner clearly cares about the product. I was frankly shocked how good this was.
After hearing all the good reviews locally, we decided to try here when I was craving some fried chicken. The regular pieces were delicious, lots of flavor, juicy, and tender. However, the popcorn chicken was over fried and dry so we will not be reordering the popcorn chicken. The brussel sprouts was delicious and so was the southwest salad. The mac and cheese was a hit too. Over all, solid 4 stars and will be coming back again!
Not sure why this place exists. From the strange counter setup that would be better suited for a dentist's reception area, to the overcooked, overpriced chicken, there is not much to like. I've been here twice, the second time to give it a second chance, and the place proved to be very consistent just not very good. Neither the Love Bird or the Nashville Hot sandwich is a winner. And with French fries a $6 side order, I saw no reason to even try them. The net is, overcooked, overpriced chicken, served out of a dental reception area, is not worth stopping for.
It's literally a take out spot. Every review I've read (here on the GF site) mentions nothing of this. There's a handful of tables outside. It's in a little shopping strip. If it's more then 4 people, good luck. Our party or 6, went to black Rock Social. They have actual seats are also a Gluten -Free restaurant.
