I came a number of years ago and it still has that old-charm that I remember. It really is a great setting. The food was very country as was the service. A highlight of any visit to southern Tasmania.
Great spot to catch up for a coffee with friends in a stylish and spacious indoor and outdoor space taking in good views . The staff a really friendly and quick help you find something delicious from menu or on display . The deserts hear are nice along with the chia tea so pop in and say hi and give them a try .
This was an amazing restaurant, both before and after her tragic kitchen fire, which forced a long closure. I had really great eating there, some of the best in the region. unfortunately everything has changed. all eating is quinoa and the similar based vegan stuff. rvl used to be famous for his banoffeepis. now all desserts are gluten-free, milk-free, fun-free coconut oil and avocado-brown style concoctions. Of course, everything is in order when that is what they are looking for BUT beware go here based on previous reviews on this app. it has completely changed into eating and character.
We wanted to eat. but it was not served for another half an hour. I wanted to go on, so I had coffee and Spanish flan. that were strong coffees! no complain, but since almost two weeks we have quite weak coffees around tassie and that was like a wake up! the Spanish flan was so good. whether it's a real Spanish flan or not, I can't comment because I didn't have so many of them. but it tasted so good. like a denser cream caramel. only heavenly. and surprisingly no outrage after.
The most delicious warming lunch on a cold foggy day and beautiful roast parsnip to die for! I'd come back just for a plate of parsnip!! Lovely cosy atmosphere, highly recommended for a more upmarket lunch.
