Lovely location and stunning barn. Service Friendly and welcoming. Great bacon sarnie; but coffee pretty disappointing! With so many great independent coffee shops in Berkhamsted and Tring, all offering well made Barista trained brews, it’s hard to hide behind a machine based coffee with generic milk; especially when charging pretty much the same price. All that’s ok though if coffee’s not your thing.
Pleased to visit again after a lockdown. Nice children lunch boxes, ice-cream, coffee and bacon rolls. Lovely atmosphere, dogs kept on lead. The children loved to feed the animals. The only recommendation is that the animals food dispensers are expensive for 50 pence for a few bits in your hand but they may have been just badly set up and our fault for not asking.
This cafe is open Fridays Mondays in the summer. It has a large garden with a sandpit and also some goats and sheep, rabbits and guinea pigs. The tea and cake were lovely. And there were plants for sale in aid of charity. There is a national trust car park opposite, but crossing the road with an 88 year old was treacherous, I picked her up in the driveway when we left! The cafe is very conscious of COVID 19 precautions (mask required to enter cafe) and there is free hand sanitiser, though no record of visitors (didn’t worry me as 90% of visitors were sat outside). There is a lovely relaxed atmosphere here and I will definitely come again! Most important dogs are welcome!
I visited this restaurant for the first time with my family on a Bank Holiday Monday. The kids had a great time seeing the animals. The restaurant is a charming little place with plenty of outdoor seating. We had a good selection of food, including bacon and egg baps, jacket potato, cakes, and hot and cold drinks. The coffee was not the best, but we were satisfied with the food and tea. They use local produce, which was a nice touch. The staff member who took our order at the till was friendly and efficient, and our food was served promptly. We would love to dine here again, but due to the limited restroom facilities (only one portaloo), we would have to make it a quick visit with the kids. The only downside was having to park and cross a fast road with limited visibility. Despite this, I would still recommend this restaurant and plan to visit again.
