Waffle House - Dacula

I've struggled to avoid writing a review for this place, but it was a truly disappointing experience! They clearly have no idea how to handle a takeout order, let alone get your order correct. This was my last option for the evening, and it turned out to be a mistake. They seem completely lost when it comes to preparing egg white omelettes and fulfilling orders accurately. I received burnt hash browns and what they called an egg white fiesta omelette, but I was also missing my waffle! I won’t waste any more time on this review because it really isn’t worth my effort!

This Waffle House location has an old-school design that could use a remodel. After years of eating at Waffle House, I only tried their waffles a few months ago, and now I understand why they call it the Waffle House—hilarious, right? The waffle mix is fantastic; the waffles are always fluffy. My only issue is that the hash browns and eggs are consistently cooked in grease, so I always need to pat them down with a paper towel. The service at the Harbins Road location, right at the corner of 316, is excellent. I usually place takeout orders, and the staff is always very friendly, so I tend to give them a tip of 25-30%. I highly recommend this location. It’s usually pretty busy, which is a good sign. Some Waffle Houses are often empty, and that usually means something.

When my husband and I first moved to Dacula, the staff at this restaurant were very welcoming, especially if you dined in. However, everything changed once we started placing takeout orders. Often, we would call 2-3 times just to get someone to answer the phone. On one occasion, I drove to the restaurant to order in person, and I found only employee cars parked outside, with just one customer inside. I later discovered that when customers call, the employees are actually on the phone and tend to ignore the calls. So, the next time you try to reach them, keep in mind that they may not be as busy as they seem—they're just preoccupied on the phone. Also, be sure to double-check your order when you pick it up. I’ve left the restaurant twice after they got my order wrong, both times because I was too tired to check. This seems to be a recurring issue.

I really wish there was less than one star. This Waffle House had roaches crawling on the table right after we had just got done eating. The whole time we were eating we had drips hitting our plates and our arms from a leak in the ceiling. What else could have gone wrong with this dinner?

I like the food at waffle house! However this place was INFESTED with flies.. Flies were everywhere!! There was at least 10 at just our table and we were constantly swatting them away during our whole meal. I will return to waffle house but NOT this one, they also got some of our order wrong..
