Don't miss when you're in Dakar. After eating countless variations of the only vegan meal in most restaurants (sautéed vegetables and rice – with is delicious), you owe yourself a splurge and a real vegan meal. The location cannot be beaten – directly on the water, with the lobe waves senading you as you eat. The service is excellent, and they understand veganism and will work with you to veganize things. But you may not have to worry about it as they have several well-marked vegan options right in the menu: Moroccan Tagine with Couscous (my favorites), vegan Dieboudienne (one of the only vegan versions of this classic Senegalese dish available in Dakar), Indian rice, Samosas over salad (delish), etc. The prices are high for Dakar (picture about 12,000-15,000 CFA per person, if you have wine to your food, less if you are not), but it is worth it. Food is nice, although not much choice except Djeb and Indian rice. Do not specify a mayonnaise when ordering the Veg starter.
It's rare to find a restaurant with labelled vegan options in Dakar so this was a nice surprise. The service was good and the portion size was decent.
It is uncommon to come across a restaurant in Dakar that offers clearly labeled vegan options, so discovering this was a delightful surprise. The service was efficient and the portion sizes were satisfying.
