Lotus River Chinese Smorgasbord - Dalby

Went there with some trepidation as it looked like a standard Chinese Takeaway.There was indeed the normal baine marie with all the standard fare, but we opted to go with the menu.We had outstanding home made dim sims, a very good Seafood Nest, and a reasonably good Duck dish. The cook (proprietor) came out to apologize that the Duck had been frozen, as he doesn't get asked for it very often.Clearly this place is really popular with locals, as there was a constant stream of visitors for the takeaways, and the four tables were full during our visit.Quaintly, they have no wine glasses - they first offered us ceramic cups, and then water glasses for our wine.

Terrible. Buffet was too salty with lots of onions in everything. Lots of sticky batter around small pieces of meat and not warm enough. Was looking forward to nice Chinese meal but was very disappointed. Maybe we should have ordered from the menu. Sorry for the negative report because the people were lovely

Really good if you order from the menu. The self service food is usually a bit cold and dry but still ok. We generally prefer to order from the menu as its way fresher and tastier even the fried rice. Honey king prawns are a must try!!

We often buy the ten dollar lunch where you can choose different thingd in the takeaway so it can appease the different taste buds It us very clean and the food is very tasty no msg which is a bonus

My husband and I have just returned from dinner here tonight (14/7). We are staying in the Dalby Caravan Park in our caravan, a comfortable walking distance to this restaurant. I telephoned and booked a table. The man on the telephone, who I assume was the chef, was very helpful and polite. When we arrived a table was set for us, including wine glasses. This is a BYO. The restaurant has three tables. This is mainly a take-away restaurant, but we were made to feel very welcome. Lots of dishes to choose from, and we enjoyed what we had chosen. Price was very reasonable. This is a small busy restaurant with lots of happy take-away customers. Highly recommended. We would return.
