First off this is a movie theater for movie lovers, by movie lovers that also happens to serve food. It has an upstairs patio and restaurant space called Vetted Well. There are karaoke rooms to rent upstairs and one of the best outdoor patios to see downtown. Upstairs is wheelchair accessible through an antique brass elevator. Has a great little photo booth downstairs. Building set up is weird but either door you come in is an entrance trust me! Super close to deep ellum and the DART runs close by. Next door to Gilleys/ Southside ballroom so come early if they have a show going on there! Vegan buffalo Cauliflower with house made Vegan Ranch is great! If you get the Tofu so a noodle salad, get the dressing on the side). They do offer gluten free burger buns and pizza dough. Pizza dough is vegan but not the buns. If you want pizza ask for kids cheese- no cheese, no parm- and add whatever veggies. It 's nice being able to go anywhere that has more than just a salad option for vegans! They are really cool about modifying menu items. They open the movie theater 30 mins before the movie ticket time and there 's a pre-show that 's usually related to the movie. Lots of Texas craft beers but also has wine/cocktails/sodas. They sometimes have special screenings for guests they had part of the cast from Rocky Horror do a q&a). Tuesday 's are taco tuesdays and they offer a vegan Tofu scramble taco. If you ask or write they use order cards to communicate during movies to servers) Texas Tuesday its 3$ Texas draft beers too! There 's another location in Richardson with the same food options! They have an app so you can reserve your seat in advance. Cool place, neat decor. Love not having to fight for a decent seat! The more vegans come and ask for options the more options they will get!
Very convenient location. The challenge I have is the limited morning shows. Most important change is they removed most of the breakfast items. I really like going and try to go every weekend.
I recently visited Alamo Drafthouse for the first time and it was definitely an interesting experience. I have to give credit to our server who did a fantastic job despite the challenges they faced. Unfortunately, our table lights didn't work and the seats were not in the best condition, making me feel uncomfortable sitting on them. It's disappointing to pay over $13 for a ticket and seats that don't fully recline.
There 's lots of food back there. That was the response I got when I asked if I could get the drink I 'd ordered 20 minutes prior. It eventually came out.... AFTER my food and AFTER I 'd asked about it again. The ice was melted by the time I got it. The food was not quite cold, but not what I 'd call warm. The seats need reupholstering. Ever see a really old fake leather couch where you can see just as much of the material under the fake leather as the fake leather? No? Go here to see it. Also, the projector was dim.
