Then, another 30 minutes passed before I finally received my drink. One person in our group ordered a Moscow mule, which was quite unpleasant, and my old fashioned was equally terrible. While other drinks at the bar came with cocktail ice cubes, mine was served with what seemed like ice chips from a vending machine. For a place that presents itself as upscale, they clearly have some serious issues with bar service. After waiting an hour for just one drink, I decided against ordering food. I certainly won't be coming back, and neither will the 12 others in my group.
The server was friendly but clearly overwhelmed; it seemed like she lacked urgency and motivation, likely due to being the only server on duty with just one busboy. There were also three other events happening at the hotel that night, making it evident that the restaurant was understaffed. We waited over 40 minutes just to be acknowledged and then another 30 minutes before receiving some, but not all, of our drinks. Unfortunately, the drinks that we did receive were not made correctly. At this point, we were quite frustrated after an hour and a half for just four unsatisfactory drinks that we were unable to enjoy. However, the manager was understanding and graciously comped our bill, and the server apologized for the experience. Perhaps it would be better to try this place on a night when three weddings aren’t all happening at once.
Eventually, we decided to move to the bar to get some service, as the bartender and busboy ignored our attempts to get their attention despite making eye contact. Unfortunately, even after relocating to the bar, each food item took at least 40 minutes to arrive (and they seemed like they had been sitting under a heat lamp), and our drinks took over 20 minutes. At one point, I had to reorder a drink because the bartender didn’t remember what we had initially ordered. We tried three different food items. They were good, but nothing special—pretty average, really. Overall, spending an hour and 45 minutes just waiting for our dinner (all due to poor service) is not something I want to experience again. I won't be going back.
If you want drinks and appetizers this is the place to go. Wife and I had some old fashioneds which were much better than many places in Dallas. Brussels sprouts and cauliflower were excellent. The entrees were a different story. Chicken and steak wereboth way over cooked. Chicken was cold and steak lacked flavor.
The food was incredibly expensive. I paid $15 for a small breakfast burrito. my husband had $10 eggs and bacon. He ordered the $15 pancakes on the side and they were brought out late and when they got to the table they were so cold. we had to send themback. Then chef Johhny came to our table and gave me the correct breakfast burrito which was huge, apparently the one the linecook made the first time was not correct. The chef apologized profusely and gave me a to go box with the free correct meal.finally the hot pancakes were brought out.
