Grateful for the lobster (there was a decent amount) but I would have liked cabbage with my order as marketed, mine was largely missing that. I would go again, but next time I will check my order before getting home so that I can ask them to give me a complete order.
Omgosh just the ordeal to get to the food truck was horrible! After seeing Cousins on FB and waiting 3 weeks for it to come to Fate, Texas I was so excited! That excitement lasted about 20 minutes after I ordered on line. Ordered at 6:17 PM and was told my food would be ready for pickup at 6:30 PM. I drive from Rockwall to Fate and see that 's its the last food truck on a road you couldn 't turn down because there was a festival happening! I have an in training German Shepherd with me to what I thought grab my food and go. I didn 't have her training collar on but here we go looking for the food truck after parking on the entrance to the school across the street, sidewalk. After getting drug by my 75 pound rescue dog, and trying to keep her from chasing the horses I come up to the truck. Aw, I think now all I have to do is tell the girl at the window I 'm here to pick up my order, nope 10 minutes before it 's my turn to talk. It 's now 7:20.and after getting to ask, my order isn 't readyI finally told a lady in line that if they called out my name to just take the 2 subs and 2 whooping pies I ordered, she was so sweet and ask my name, after giving it she said she thought my name had already been called. I yelled at anyone in the truck if my order wa ready, the girl said another 10 minutes..omgosh...this long story shortened, I got my order and a free bottle of water for my dog, got home and tried to eat a hot lobster sub but wasn 't hot or a sub, the lobster was in 1 piece of Texas toast and no sub. It 's now 8 PM. I ate peanut butter, took my dog out and went to bed. Will not try this again for almost $70.00.
Since we discovered them a couple of months ago, my husband and I have been wanting to try Cousins Maine Lobster. We finally got our chance tonight. We ordered 2 Colorado rolls, a cup of lobster bisque with extra meat, and an order of tots. Honestly, we were mostly disappointed. The lobster meat was bland, and the juice on the bread tasted odd. The bisque was so-so, and had a heavy shrimp or seafood juice flavor that I found very unappealing. Actually, the best part of the meal was the tots. I would have given 3 stars, but the lady who took our order was very nice and friendly.
I love this truck and their lobster. This was my mother's favorite treat once she became terminally ill and unable to leave the house. She'd have me chasing this truck all over DFW once or twice a month to get her lobster rolls. Many fond memories of standing outside in the cold waiting for our lobster rolls to take home and have lunch with her. To this day, when they come to Grapevine you'll see me there waiting on my lobster rolls in memory of her. The people that work the Grapevine truck are some of the nicest, friendliest people you'll meet. They're expensive but worth every penny. Thank you Cousins for bringing a smile to my mother's face for as long as you did.
Friendly staff and clean truck with condiments and silverware in front. The Maine lobster roll chilled w/ mayo was great! It has a good amount of lobster meat, but I can tell the amount you receive varies. It came with a wedge of lemon and I requested a side of pico de gallo which added a burst of flavor. I also enjoyed the soft New England butter toasted bread. For $22 I feel the Maine lobster roll should come with a small bag of chips or a can soda.
