The Black Dog is an old fashioned pub that hasn't lost its heart weekend are vibrant it can be quiet during the week depending on time of year because it is mainly locals many of who are farmers the food they do on Friday nights is good and good value for money they have good music nights (including folk nights) and support young bands. The land lord and landlady are friendly and work hard to keep our local pub buzzing Dog Fest was bigger and better this year all this is easy walking distance of Dalton or good local taxi ride
