The chicken was all soggy where the batter just fell off. Even when they refilled the chicken all they brought out was 2 breast's a bunch of thighs. They was all soggy like they was being kept warm in a steam cabinet. There was only 4 pieces of pie on the dessert table and I took the peach pie slice and was full of pie filling and NO peach's in it! We arrived at 130pm and dinning room was only 1/3 full. So for 16.99 for lunch and 3.50 for a drink was not worth that price. So I don't recommend this place and won't go back again
Nice place to eat, a little high on prices like most places around here.
We went here for the first time for dinner. The hostess was very unpleasant. Another lady eventually came over to ask if someone had taken our drink order, which we saw the hostess taking as other people came in later. There were only ten tables being used, so not busy by any means. The waitress for our table was very unpleasant as well and made no attempt to check and see if we needed anything which we did, napkins and more tea) to name a couple things. The Second Lady we dealt with stood in my way while I was trying to get food just to wipe the buffet down and told me I could go ahead and then laughed while continuing to wipe the same spot over and over. The entire experience here was terrible. I would highly recommend NOT GOING HERE unless you enjoy rude people and not being waited on as is the whole purpose of eating out. Management needs to really do some house cleaning of staff and very serious training on how to treat people and run a business. Maybe they need some training themselves as well. The food was not all that good and the deserts were horrible, dried out cakes, apple pie tasted more like peach). Very disappointing all the way around and definitely not worth $50+ buffet and two sweet teas) for two people. Get your act together Dutch Kitchen, owners and management.
This place used to be the bin and people lined up outside just to get in. Took my elderly Dad for lunch. Was fully disappointed! Barely anyone there, it was a Saturday, so normally would have been packed back in the day! Seated in good time (plenty of seats available) He wanted the salad bar, which for most “Amish” salad bars is all you need. Food looked disgusting, but did t want to spoil his idea, so didn’t say anything. Got to the salad bar and the very first item (lettuce) was definitely from the day before, as well as other options which apparently aren’t selling or being used enough! I found the waitress and said can we get some fresh lettuce? It’s brown! Oh, of course, young man immediately brought out new lettuce. Bar was less than appealing with a couple of meats that looked like they sat in the water for days and were very dry. Even the dessert section was a bit scary with open air to them and flies around. Will not return. Of course the gift shop was normal for “Amish” restaurant and large bakery area-almost as big as dining area. But, as much bakery items they had, all were very large portions, but didn’t look like they make them there or were they looking fresh. On one last note, we saw the waitress give other tables what appeared to be fresh bread baskets, which we were not offered!
Wonderful waitress, helpful and pleasant. Food was better than I thought it would be, a little smalt made it better but just admit I'm a salt addict.
