I resigned as a manager last year and decided to go to hourly. This hotel posted a front desk agent position, and because I'm a former Marriott manager, I'm already trained on all the computer systems and if trained many new employees in the past when I was a manager. The front desk manager Teresa did not return a single phone call to acknowledge that she had my application despite leaving three messages.I finally reached the assistant general manager on Saturday and she said she would forward the information and someone would contact me. That never happened. When I called back this morning and spoke to the assistant manager that I spoke to Saturday.. she was very sharp and borderline rudeness. She said she explained to me on Saturday that it goes to the recruiting department and it takes time.. SHE DID NOT EXPLAIN THAT THIS PAST SATURDAY.THEN SHE TOLD ME BY CALLING HER EVERY DAY..I was hindering her gettingher work done. So if I called her on Saturday and today is tuesday, that's three and a half days yet she said I'm calling her every day.I'm not poor .. and I'm fine with or without this job.The only reason I followed up today was because I knew it was a good fit knowing the computer systems and would not be having to be trained on it.But after no communication from this property despite them posting online the need for this position to be filled, along with the assistant managers unprofessionalLanguage... I told her to take my name off the list and I was no longer interested in working for them.Again, I'm a former Marriott manager and I know right from wrong with Marriott. This property must really be struggling... I can onlyhope that the managers at this don't address and speak to their guests the way the assistant manager did me.VERY UNPROFESSIONALAND VERY INAPPROPRIATE.I'm not financially strapped,So I'm obviously not going to join a hotel where are the managers talk to you like dirt... Maybe some paycheck to paycheck person will take that abuse..But they've got the wrong person if they think I will.Be very careful if you're applying for a job here, or even considering booking a room as guest... You might run into some ruid hotel staff just like I did.
It served its purpose as we stayed there one night before leaving on a cruise. But getting breakfast, the day of departure was an ordeal as they were SO understaffed. Everyone had to wait in a very long line. Food was ok, but those that were working how to do the job of a full staff. Not efficient for those of us wanting to be on time.
11/28/23– Stayed here for a night . It an hour drive from airport. Check in was smooth . We had room #316 a few steps from the elevator . Good size bathroom . We had partial view to the pool. Refri and coffee maker . Twin beds . If you spouse snores good chance it won’t sound to close . Big beds too .We took our bag to the check in area to hold until we come back from breakfast . There is a cruise port transport . Nice fish tank . Those fishes there have carácter. Their customer service was excellent. We paid at the hotel to have transfer to the cruise port . Full bus . We paid $20 per person , reasonable price and it saved us a hassle .
Getting a little old and rundown, still decent but quickly approaching the point where it needs a remodel. The one working elevator is as slow as Christmas. They charge $10 per night for parking when other hotels in the area do not.
They deserve negative stars fo services notably their airport shuttle. Firstly, I have never encountered having to pay a fee at the early morning shuttles, even if $10/passenger. Secondly, unreliable as the driver did not show up on time, and I missed my flight, requiring me to Uber. The $10/passenger was not refunded. no meaningful apology provided, no meaningful compensation offered, other than5000 Bonvoy points. You can’t even rent a toilet seat for that. Then there was the generalized cleanliness issue, dirty, stained cushions in the lobby. What was most disappointing was how Marriott headquarters washed their hands completely from this pathetic encounter, absolving themselves from any responsibility of the name Marriott on the establishment. Also pathetic and incredibly irresponsible. Your name is on the hotel name for god’s sake. All disgusting at every level.
