O'charley's Restaurant Bar - Danville

This was my first and last visit to this restaurant. My wife ordered the ribs and tender chicken. The half rack of ribs was so small it fit in my hand. While I do have large hands, that’s beside the point. The chicken tenders were dry. They came covered in a Southern-style gravy with mushrooms and onions, and without that, I wouldn't have been able to eat them. I also tried a bowl of the famous potato soup, but there were only about six or seven small pieces of potato in the entire bowl. It had a decent bacon flavor, but it really needs something more! I've had a better experience at Slim Chickens for half the price.

The potato soup was disappointing; it just didn't taste right. I also found it frustrating that I had to request onions for the salad, even though the menu clearly stated they were included. Overall, I left feeling very let down. It's going to take me a while before I consider returning since they mentioned they'd changed the soup recipe.

Ate here last Wednesday with my 8yr old boys. Rolls were delicious and Michael, our server, was kind enough to bring us extra when my son commented on how much he loved them. I ordered tenders, slaw, and a loaded potato. One son had tenders and fries. The other had a burger and applesauce. All of our tenders looked really dark like they had been fried, refried, and put under a warmer. They were dry and tough to eat. My potato was lukewarm? the cheese and butter didn?t even melt and the slaw was tasteless. The fries my son ate were fresh and the burger and applesauce were ok. My experience eating at the Hurstbourne location today confirmed that this Danville location is lacking. We waited five minutes before the ?hostess? greeted us in her black zipper hoodie with food and bleach stains on the front of it. The tables were all sticky from the cleaner they are using. And they were ok with serving reheated tenders. Our server was kind, the rolls were good and free pie Wednesday are the only reasons I gave it two stars. I should have refused the food as soon as I saw it but we were hungry and on a schedule. I won?t make that same mistake again. (We went to the Hurstbourne location today at my son?s pleading. I?m glad we did. The food and service there was MUCH better.

Fast, friendly service. On a Sunday evening it is very undisputed. Chicken pliers and crabcakes were good, frits were cold (they offered to remake them, but I leaned off) rolls were slightly underdonated, but still good.
