Dapto Leagues Club

Had the pleasure to eat at the famous Dapto Leagues Club 20/05/2023, we met as a family gathering for a birthday party.....apparently booking in advance is a must as it is very popular but finding you need a credit card to book?? $10 for each person in case of no shows This is robbery and fraudulent and is a joke and a half...after all this is down town Dapto.. not Doyles on Watsons Bay! Waited 9 minutes to get through the concierge line...wait... only one on the counter checking diners in who was also showing diners to their tables? Queue is now getting longer...one couple was tuned away as they didn 't book in advance???...And there were lots of empty tables?? And stayed empty?? Showed to our table and waited 25 mins for someone to take our order, average.....place was not busy, so glad it was not packed....Then the bar visit...nice huge bar well stocked, 5 bartenders we were 3rd in a queue and still took a while to get served, 2 beers, large soda water and fresh lime and a JD and coke...$26.20...then we had to shuffle up and down the bar to the various drop off points collecting drinks...at least the positive was, I was getting my steps up. Meals arrived 45 mins after ordering and the empty plates stayed on the table for the rest of the 3 hours we were there...Conclusion? Back ground music was really loud so no conversations unless you got up close....Food was Bistro food and plain, I mean you cannot go wrong with the likes of snizzy and chips or hamburgers....table service was fine, rest of the service was non existent and sorry I was doing you all a favour for being there, ambience was like sitting in a pub surrounded by large screen TVs playing football with thump thump music in the background. Dapto Leagues ....This is DAPTO, you have lost the plot, your are trying to market to the non existent yuppies....Where have all of the original members gone? I would have been happier getting a meal at one of the old Coles/Woolworths Cafeterias. Now I know why I gave my membership up. My rating? 1.5 out of 10 and this was for getting my steps up.

I ordered the Lamb cutlets, which came in three generous portions with plenty of meat. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, and I also had a side of fries. The restaurant has a pleasant and spacious atmosphere with comfy seating. The staff were welcoming, attentive, and hospitable. I highly recommend this place.

The service at Dapto Leagues is extremely slow, the meals are subpar, and the managers and security staff are rude and inexperienced. I had a negative experience after confronting a security guard who was behaving inappropriately towards young women. When I spoke to him a second time, he promptly kicked me out. The manager who eventually came to address the situation seemed indifferent, casually eating an apple while I tried to explain what had happened. The security staff also seemed to arbitrarily cut people off without reason, possibly to assert their authority. As for the restaurant, it takes a long time to place an order and even longer to receive your food, making it not worth the wait. We stopped dining there a while ago and have found quicker and more enjoyable dining options at other nearby establishments such as the citizens club, the yacht club at Warrawong, Unanderra, or Collegians in Wollongong. Overall, Dapto Leagues is not worth the visit. Save your time and money elsewhere.

Last night, my friends and I went out for dinner and drinks at The Mill to catch up. The restaurant was quite noisy, but the service was quick and efficient. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my pasta dish. It was supposed to be pancetta and chicken with a mushroom cream sauce, but it ended up being just pasta with tiny bits of pancetta and chicken. The dish was bland and not at all what I had expected based on the description. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Omg. The food is outstanding. The food here is definitely restaurant quality at club prices. Our party all agree that the quality here is definitely better than the price suggests.
