Try the boneless chicken 65 or dry Fry Prawns as starters asking for spicy or mild depending on taste. (Note: most of their dishes are even their appetizers quite large. If hunger avoid lamb Rogan Josh it is delicious, but there is hardly much meat in it). Meen Pollichathu is an excellent marinated fish cooked in banana leaves it's delicious! Unlike some other restaurants, most of the Swaad's dishes are quite large typical of 4 people I would order 3 main dishes and a chicken 65 as an appetizer (plus Naan bread or rice). Also important to note that they do not serve alcoholic drinks such as beer and wine some places in Dar any alcohol ask to be safe before booking. It is a clean, open restaurant with overhead fans at night wearing long trousers, long sleeves shirts and mosquito defense. Moskitos are not a problem, most of the time, but can be early after the rains pesky. Make sure that once you sit down, you ask them to put some mosquitoes under/beside your table. Reference Dar many of the non-tourist restaurants (like Swaad) actually price their grilled food at about the price like chicken or lamb... fresh shrimps are cheap in Dar... so if you enjoy them, go for them!
Swaad now got two out lets. One is in mlimani city and another one in badminton club upstairs(Down side open area is not swaad) second floor.
Every Friday they have Bingo (Tambola) and it's very entertaining
