Seemed promising and looked forward to returning.Arrived at 7:45 with a reservation. Seated promptly. At 8:15, we were told the pizza would take 20 minutes. At 8:45, we were told the pizza would be right out. At 8:56 we were told there were two pizzas ahead of us the waitress apologized; someone new was working, apparently. Finally asked to have the pizza to go. It arrived at 9:08. The waitress was kind and apologetic, but there was no bill adjustment. Can’t comment on the quality of the pizza; haven’t gotten to eat it yet!Update: it’s 9:22 and I had my first slice pretty good! Standard brick oven artisanal pizza. Certainly not good enough to justify the wait.I am willing to believe it was an off night and the wait is usually shorter but there are lots of outdoor tables and a decently sized dining room. The waitstaff was very adept and they were hustling, but the service was slow enough that I bet when the place is full, it tests the capacity of the kitchen and brick oven. I think Sally is another example of a place where the outdoor COVID era, semi covered dining booths plus an open dining room equals a too high table to staff ratio. Stick to Pizzeria Vetri not as trendy an atmosphere but consistent and just as good.
We ate outside. Food was good. The pizzas were tasty . Nice selection of beers and some different featured cocktails.
The food is great and the cocktails are delicious. It is on the expensive side but the prices are to be expected with the quality and location. My only complaint is that the music is too loud on weekends. Last time I was there on a Saturday, I felt the music could have been turned down about 30-50%. It was really uncomfortable to have a conversation to the point I felt relieved every time there was time between a new song playing.
I had been several times for their dinner but most recently went for brunch. It was excellent!Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian options
I decided to give this place a go, attracted by its claim to be a “casual” place “specializing in pizzas”. However, the menu prices didn’t really reflect that casual tag for pizzas and small plates aka appetizers. We opted for a simple Plain cheese pizza and ended our meal with an apple pie. Personally, the pizza was not my cup of tea it was too salty and the crust carried a noticeable char. As for the apple pie, it sadly lacked freshly baked feel, reminding me more of something you’d find pre packaged with an artificial aftertaste. Also, there was a bit of a wait for our pizza we clocked more than 20 minutes before it arrived. In sum, while it was an okay visit, I’m not too sure about a round two.
