Broosters Char-broiled - Darien

I had previously posted a negative review about the quality and freshness of the chicken, but I wanted to share my updated experience. When I visited the restaurant, the owner, Chef Alex, personally apologized for my earlier experience and prepared a fresh meal for me. He explained that the condensation that affects the food can occur quickly when it’s packaged. He went above and beyond to make it right, offering me a warm and freshly made dish and inviting me to dine inside the restaurant. The atmosphere was really pleasant and modern, with excellent cleanliness. As for the chicken gyro, it was fantastic!

The food and service were excellent! The homemade sausage was juicy and full of flavor, while the chicken was cooked to perfection.

This is my husband's and my favorite spot in the area. The food is fantastic and incredibly fresh, and the service is excellent. I highly recommend it!

The chicken was overcooked and dry, with a taste reminiscent of being previously frozen. The salad was just tomatoes and lettuce. The ribs appeared to be frozen before being grilled, and they were so dry that I ended up throwing them away. They tasted more like ketchup than barbecue sauce. The fries had an unpleasant flavor from old grease. On the positive side, the potatoes were good, and the staff was friendly. Overall, I don't think this meal was worth the $55. Food rating: 1/5.

Update: The new owner/manager has really improved the place! It looks much nicer now, food is consistently available, the menu has expanded, and everything tastes great. I highly recommend it! However, I recently left empty-handed twice but was happily surprised to finally get a meal today (1/15/20). Everything was as delicious as I anticipated, except for the potatoes. I really don’t know what to say about them—the color in the picture looks gray and black, and they were so undercooked that it was difficult to pierce them with a fork. Not that anyone wanted to eat them anyway.
