Miskatonic Brewing - Darien

I always enjoy the great atmosphere at this restaurant! Their craft beers are fantastic and I always have a great time at the Thursday night trivia. If you're a fan of nerdy or alternative pop culture, this is the perfect spot for you.

The restaurant has a friendly and knowledgeable staff, offering a wide variety of beers. The atmosphere is welcoming, with both indoor and outdoor seating that is dog-friendly.

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant. The selection of beers was excellent and the service was top-notch. I will definitely return here whenever I am in town.

They gave my husband credit card to someone else.... For a brief summary, we got there at 4pm it was not busy we were there for about an hour and 20 minutes. Also they hold on to your card which was fine till now. My husband goes to order round for our friend who has never been here and we recommend BIG MISTAKE!!! My husband told the bartender to put it on his tab, well they couldn't find his tab and when they looked at the cards he asked my husband is your name Peter my husband said no the bartender ask if you can give him a minute to look for it. My husband then tells me what happened. We were then approached by the manager EVYNN DAVIS she ask if we were aware of the credit card issue which we said yes. She then said all she can do is give us one free beer and 15% off our bill also do you have another form of payment. I said that is crazy you gave our credit card away to someone else and then you expect us to pay the bill... when we asked her how this happen she say one they were the same name on both cards that was not true. She then said she called the person but she couldn't tell me if they were coming back or what the person said. When asked do your employees verify the whole name she refuses to answer and saod this was not her fult it was the bartender. At this point we said we would call the cops because this all sounds so shady. She then decided to remove our bill and walked away. We left and will never come back our friend has said the same. This is not how you do business.

I think this is my favorite overall brewery in Illinois.Some places have better individual aspects, like location(I'm from Chicago), or distribution, or food available, or even quantity/variety...However this brewery for many, many reasons is near and dear to my heart.The beer they do have is always amazing, the imperials are top notch, they know their way around IPA's and basically everything they do is phenomenal.I also am a huge Lovecraft fan, so points there as well!!! I can load up on merch from my favorite brewery and one that reps one of my favorite authors at the same time!And I'm a huge fan of board games, and they have a pretty great selection to choose from and play.They also allow doggos, so more bonus points.Plus the staff are always amazing!The locals are super friendly and I've made some good friends in the tap room!And lastly it's conveniently located near one of my favorite stay-cation spots in the Chicagoland area, the Champagne Lodge, just a 4 minute drive away! And some of the best fried chicken you can get at Dell Rhea's chicken basket(7ish minute drive away), in case you need something to soak up the beer.I love it so much I have a Cecilia tattoo(the tentacle lady from their logo)!
