Cafe Thirty6 - Darlinghurst

I had never been to Cafe 36 before and placed my trust in them, under the direction of Nick, to make our arrangements. I was surprised and delighted when he sent me a personalised menu for our dinner that not only had a delicious assortment of plates but also catered for those of us with special, gluten-free, dietary requirements.Nick prepared a customised menu especially for our dinner.My faith in Nick was well-placed. Cafe 36 exceeded my expectations. We were treated to a fine dining experience that we will remember for a long time.My tip for others is to allow sufficient time to enjoy the meal. This restaurant closes after 10pm. However, there is a bar beside that is open much later.I can recommend dining at Cafe 36.

The food generally was well prepared and had a simple choice of sandwiches, pizza and finger foods available. They also were accommodating for special food requests.

The cafe offers a causal and comfortable environment for a break in the day. The daily specials are perfect choices for good value of money and the portion is more than sufficient. Warm and friendly staff to give you fine service.

The staff here are beyond incredible thanks to Paul and the lady with the dark hair( not sure if it was Mel Or Wendy)! You are both just so super lovely! Chips dumplings and cheese platter! Yum!!

We recently booked a package stay and decided to dine at the hotel restaurant based on the website photos. Unfortunately, our experience at Bar Thirty6 was disappointing. We spent $82 on food that was almost inedible and should have been returned. The dishes were all served at the same time, despite having different cooking times. The scallops were small and cold, the cutlets overcooked and tough, and the prawn dish had an odd pumpkin flavor. The onion fritters were burnt as well. The staff seemed disorganized and unengaged, with one disappearing into the kitchen and the other, identified as a Trainee, appearing lost. Even when we expressed our dissatisfaction with the food, the Trainee did not acknowledge our feedback. We regret not opting for the bar and getting delivery instead. The attached photos were taken before the Trainee cleared the table, seemingly eager to do so once he saw us taking pictures.
