No welcome just shown to the table with menus. Didn’t take an order for drinks. When the waiter came over to take the order he was rude and arrogant. He didn’t listen to our order and wouldn’t let us order what we wanted. Told my Son’s girlfriend she could t have the starter for one but my Son could. Felt very awkward. Starters came up and some poppadoms. The starter arrived and it was lukewarm and 4 pieces and old salad. The poppadoms were as dated as the restaurant. No hospitality skills Never once was we asked if everything was ok. The older man who was rude was too preoccupied with takeaway orders and all the bags were at the back of the restaurant. No one cared if we were there or not. Mains arrived and that wasn’t any better. Small portion of rice and the chicken was tough. Took ages to get the bill because we were invisible. When we left no thank you nothing. We will never go here again and how his stayed open amazes me A restaurant with no hospitality skills and the Manager rude and miserable. No thanks
One night stop over in Dartford so came for a last minute meal. Welcomed and welcoming. We had the mid-week Banquet Night menu. Crazily good value and still had the whole menu to choose from. I had the Choley Lamb which was a nee dish for me but very good. Will defo come back if we stop in Dartford again.
We visited The Kent Curry house last night, will never go back. The starters were a vegetable samosa were passable but over fried. The other starter, a prawn puree, the puri was stodgy, undercooked and chewy, the prawn curry was blitzed in the microwave. Main courses the vegetable Jalfrazi was ok but the prawn Madras was awful. It was basically prawns in a bland gravy with chilli. There was no spices, hebs or seasoning. When I compalined the manager was very disgruntled and said I was probably used to a hotter curry. I said there was no problem with the spiciness it was the lack of other seasoning and spices. He ignored that and me saying that I did not want another curry as we had waited so long for one of the staff to come over. I tried a spoonful of the new curry and it was the same only with more chilli. We asked for the bill and discovered a nann bread had been added which we had not ordered or had, despite the irate waiter saying that he had just removed an unfinished naan from the table! Which was a lie.
My husband and I were in the mood for a curry close to home, so after looking at local restaurants, we chose Kent Curry House. The reviews were mixed, but we went in with an open mind. The restaurant appeared clean and we were promptly seated with menus and drink orders taken. The menus were impressive and not sticky like some we've encountered before. The table was nicely set with linen cloths, napkins, and china cutlery. We enjoyed poppadoms with a pickle tray while waiting for our main dishes. Two chicken mains and three side vegetable dishes were all delicious and not greasy. The tables were not as close together as some reviews had mentioned. Although the planters with plants on the windowsills could have used some attention, it didn't take away from our enjoyable evening. Despite there being only one waiter for several tables, he managed everything smoothly and efficiently. Overall, it was a successful outing and we recommend giving Kent Curry House a try for a decent curry meal.
Myself , wife and brother came here after not been here for a while. My wife and I came a few times on a Sunday for the buffet they did but travellers who where there on our last visit really spoilt it for us so we stopped going My brother said he hadn’t been for over20 years previous . So we were very pleased to see the standard of the food and service hadn’t changed and was excellent. Definitely won’t wait so long til we return. Well done Kent Curry
