A&W Restaurant - Dartmouth

I paid for a meal at a restaurant that felt more like a food court. The burgers and fries were of poor quality, with the burgers being cold and the fries being the worst I have ever tasted.

I was hoping for a better value for my money, but I received two meals that were worth over $20. The fries were tasty and hot, and we got about 12 of them in a box. The burgers were good, but I don't think they were worth $8 each.

I ordered the Chubby Chicken meal and after waiting 15 minutes, my patience was wearing thin. When I inquired about the wait time, the young cashier was unable to provide an answer. I requested a refund, and another staff member offered me two discount coupons instead. After waiting 17 minutes at a fast food restaurant, I simply wanted my money back. I was told that the manager was not available to issue a refund. Finally, after 20 minutes, the manager appeared without any apologies and only said that my order would be ready soon. I insisted on a refund and left. I reached out to A&W's website to complain, but did not receive a response. This was the worst service I have ever experienced.

The burgers are the best in the fast food industry. The root beer is akin to a fine beer here: They chill root beer mugs so that you do not need ice to contaminate the drink and they chill the beverage at the most sublime...temperature not too cold, not too warm. The atmosphere is like no other. Speakers play music outside of the restaurant. Classic cars park outside the establishments. Inside, you will feel as if you have stepped into the past. Great atmosphere and great food!

A few simple hamburgers certainly shouldn't take 25 minutes to prepare and get to the customer. I felt bad for the one worker who was handling the counter cash, while I could see 3 in the back, both texting, and eating chocolate. It was...not busy in the food court, so there was no excuse for the wait. When I saw the burgers sitting in the tray, I asked if they were ours, and the server said she had forgotten what we had ordered Terrible service at this particular A W.
