We just discovered the milk bar yesterday and already I'm in love! We had great coffees today and a delicious piece of carrot cake! So good. Only issue was the "large" coffee cup was very small and the staff seemed quite aloof.
I've been living in Darwin a while and have been generally disappointed with lunch options in the mall. However, The Milk Bar offered me a delicious Mushroom Burger to change my opinion of the local lunch options. It was not what I was expecting (or what I usually get) when I order a mushroom burger (usually a big field mushroom in a bap). It was a highly quality pattie which hadn't been overprocessed (like most veggie burgers), the spicy aioli was spot on and it was jampacked with spinach leaves, and just the right amount of tomato and cheese. The bread was also of great quality.Apparently they have just changed the menu, this burger definitely gets the tick of approval from me. They obviously put a lot of effort into the presentation of their food and the flavour.
I had a delicious homemade sandwich with fresh juice, but my husband had ordered the burger and thought the meat had been forgotten, so it turned out to be so.
Situated right at the entrance of the plaza. Excellent food and coffee and friendly staff. Meals take a little while to arrive but worth the wait. Run by backpackers wearing interesting uniforms, well sort of wearing uniforms. Great place to stop on the way to wave pool. Great job!
