From the get go, it was very hard to contact the reception with no one answering after multiple calls. The rooms were horrible, with windows that don’t close properly, inviting all the lizards, cockroaches and bugs in at night. We totally understand this is normal in a nature resort, but when it is obvious that the window needs changing (cause they can’t close), it should be done to continually improve the hotel. We checked in at night and was told both rooms were the same but they were not as one was superior and we had to move to 2 times as there was something wrong in each room (broken wiring and windows would not close) Furthermore, for a hotel in the Philippines where the climate is always hot, they don’t have any airconditioned areas (apart from the bedroom) expect for the restaurant which they only turn on when they want (only for one meal a day). Some of the staff were amazing and very nice but more often than not, the service was slow. The wifi is also very fragile and you only have connection for 5-10 mins at most. All in all, I wouldn’t go back to this hotel unless major improvements were done.
It was our first vacation after 2 years due to the pandemic and it was also my wife 's birthday. We were expecting to relax after several stressful personal events the past few months. We usually stay at another resort in Panglao but decided to give Mithi a try. Our stay started off with a disaster, we were awoken at 3am due to a big rat in the room! I also discovered a tuko (tokay gecko) in the bathroom. My wife had a panic attack. The staff were of little help and I had to demand to be transferred to another cottage. No apologies whatsoever for the inconvenience. We waited for an hour in the veranda in the rain while waiting for anyone to arrive. When I told the front desk the following morning, they acted surprised as if nothing happened. I had to talk to the manager and to her credit we were transferred to a superior villa. Rooms are hit and miss, the resort has newly renovated rooms as well as old and poorly maintained ones. Here 's a rundown of the facilities. Rooms: 1. 1319 Oldest Superior Forest 1/5 Rodent wildlife problem, stuffy room, mediocre bed and beddings, small tv limited cable channels/poor reception, spotty wifi, limited cell signal (Smart/Sun). 2. 1310 Old Superior Forest 3/5 Better ambiance, brightly colored walls, same mediocre beddings, AC was pointing directly at the bed, small tv with same limited channels but a bit better reception, better wifi, no cell coverage. 3. 1408 Superior Villa 3/5 Nicely furnished, better bed and beddings, small tv with same limited channels but good reception, good wifi, issues with water closet bathroom fixtures, AC dripping water, good cell coverage. Staff 4/5 Except for the frontdesk staff on duty during the rodent incident , staff are generally friendly and accommodating. I inquired several times on island tour options, they promise to call you back but they never did. Food 4/5 Breakast buffet was ok, loved the ube pan de sal and local tsokolate . It could be better if they adjusted the hours from 6 9am to at least 10:30am. Ala carte menu a bit limited but quality and serving was ok. Beach 4/5 Fine white sand and warm water, litter along the rocks and cliff crevices. They have their own private small island in front, decent snorkeling w/ several fish sanctuaries in the area. Pool 5/5 Infinity saltwater pools, offered great views. Loved the warm water. Location 3/5 Good if you want a secluded hideaway, but located a bit far from Alona beach and the new restos (Molly 's/Mist). A trike ride could cost you P300 one way. Much better to rent a scooter for your stay. Sports Facilities/Spa 3/5 They have a gym, game room, tennis courts. Facilities are starting to show their age and in need of renovation. Was not able to visit the Spa during our visit. Overall an average stay, will recommend the resort with caution . Will think twice on our next visit.
We had awesome experience at Mithi Resort and Spa. The entire resort is architecturally designed, which I totally love. The villa that we stayed in is clean and spacious with simply gorgeous furniture. Those are partnered with staff that are friendly and courteous, delicious food and relaxing spa. I should mention that the resort has harmonious relationship with nature as well, very relaxing! We also went for snorkling. There are lots of different type of fish and corals in the area. Thank you Mithi Resort and Spa and the rest of the crew that assisted us during our stay.
Beautiful and quiet (secluded, away from hustle and bustle). Also means you 're confined to eating within the hotel, unless you have a car, shuttle, or motorbike to go out and search for places to eat. Not complaining, food is decent. PLEASE try the ube carbonara. Place was clean. Rooms spacious. STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND ACCOMMODATING. It was my fiancé 's birthday, I asked them to arrange a simple cake surprise. They went over and beyond! They sang for him, greeted him with a yummy (and generous portion) cake, and since we weren 't in the room as I originally said, they LOOKED FOR US within the hotel premises just to greet him Private beach within the hotel. No other resort or outsiders can access the private beach on foot, they 'll need to boat. Super quiet, beautiful powder white sand, turquoise water. Dreamy.
The pools were infinity from certain angles . They were beautiful and we'll kept. Staff was helpful and present if you needed something. We stayed in a premium seaside bungalow. It was very luxurious. It had a nice 50 inch tv with king size bed beautiful sliding patio doors with a beautiful view. A deck overlooking the ocean! The food was decent nothing special. Their breakfast again nothing to brag about. It is a very peaceful place with tons of plant life. It is a gorgeous resort and has an on premise spa with capable staff. Had to give it a 4 star though because for $300 plus a night for a premium bungalow I don't expect wall paper to be peeling and the hot tub outside to have tiles falling off of it The jets were pitiful in it The hot tub was beautiful with all the small colored tiling so I was disappointed with the lack of maintenance for the price point. If I'm paying extravagant prices I expect all the details to be in line with the price. Overall I wouldn't stay there again but that's because I couldn't afford to do it other as a one time special occasion/experience.
