First time coming here and the food was great. We were served pretty quickly up at the counter. The only downside is it's small so it'd be a little difficult to bring a bigger family here to sit together. They only had one English muffin left and she said they wanted to save it in case someone orders an eggs Benedict so I had a breakfast sandwich on regular toast which was pretty good. I also had the French toast which came with bacon that was almost perfectly cooked. My husband had French toast, corned beef hash, eggs, and home fries. His was pretty good too. Overall a good experience, just can get a tiny bit tight when there are a lot of people.
Good breakfast and ice cream options for cheap. However none of the staff seem to like working there; I really want to support a local business but their staff are just miserable and in turn aren't terribly friendly to me. Plus, it's a longer than average wait for food. Four breakfast sandwiches took 20 minutes to make. 20 MINUTES. They weren't even fancy breakfast sandwiches--though at $3 the price is right. Milkshakes are dynamite. Apple crisp is hit or miss. Any type of sandwiches are fine, cheaply priced. Ambiance is fine. Unfortunately they seem to always be playing 70's music so it's a bit dull and doesn't really liven the mood. I'll keep going back for the convenient location and cheap cost for a meal. However I'd be willing to pay 10% more for a waitstaff that actually smiled.
My experience here is very disturbing. I had been looking for a good pastrami or corn beef sandwich and was told about this shop not far from where I work. I entered the shop and noticed customers sitting enjoying these sandwiches stacked with a nice amount of meat and it reminded me of the sandwich I was looking for. They had a special of grilled rye grilled corn beef and cheddar. I ordered the sandwich with difference of the bread and cheese. When I received my sandwich I literally had 5half sliced meat with sliced half cheese. Was then told that my sandwich was not on the menu and that's why I had less meat. This of course did not make sense to me. I myself am a Chef and would never tell a customer that nor treat them different. At that point I felt racially profiled and humiliated at the way I was treated. To matters worse when I told the cashier my feeling she proceeded to raise her voice at me telling I got what I ordered. I hope that the owners will give their employees a little more training on customer service and manners.
Nice little spot in a convenient locale. Breakfast was cost conscious, and pretty good. Space us at a premium, so probably not the spit if you're with a big group. Nice alternative to the more crowded places in the same area.
