The noise of the trains at 3 and 4 in the morning is loud, so bring ear plugs if you want to sleep. After asking to be moved to a quieter room we stayed reluctantly for 5 more nights. The basic $15 hot and cold breakfast was ok. There was no housekeeping or room cleaning as standard. Anything you needed you had to ask the already hard working staff for, we felt uncomfortable doing this. Two paper cups and a few coffees were provided initially. We made our beds and tidied bathroom for the whole time, not the Hilton experience we were expecting. The elevator was broken when we arrived, still out of order when we left, June 2023. Staff were friendly, especially Sarah at breakfast, We stayed in the Aggie Inn before and had a lovely time but it was booked up . To sum up- forget the Hilton name. Staff nice, facilities poor, location poor. Would not stay again.
This place is fine. We stay at Hilton properties a lot because we are Hilton Honors members and we like to get the points. This one is mediocre and for little things that could be fixed if they cared to. The positives: the location is great- convenient to walk downtown and to the campus, the rooms are modern and nice, the lobby is spacious and there is an outdoor seating area. The negatives: they now charge $15 for parking- many other Hilton properties (both nicer ones as well as the Hampton) do not charge. The breakfast will cost you even if you are a rewards member- they make the price higher than the daily food stipend to ensure that you pay. Ok those are annoying but kind of expected in today's economy. The worse offenses: during our stay the elevator was out of service (no warning ahead of time) so you must use the stairs. That isn't a big deal for me as I have no mobility issues but the issue was that the stairwell door made a very loud squealing noise every time it was opened (maybe 100x a day/night as everyone was using it) and it could be heard even inside our room. We mentioned this to the staff and they couldn't be bothered to spray some WD40. Second, the shower products are now in resealable bottles affixed within shower (thumbs up for reducing plastic waste), problem is, you need to fill those bottles when they get empty- they did not, and once you're in the shower (naked and wet) and ready to lather, it's kind of too late. All in all, this place is fine but I hope they can work out some kinks.
First of all, I got a shock when I got a call from Hilton Davis that my booking has been cancelled, due to another group booking it, while boarding my flight to Sacramento. When I landed, I just wanted to reconfirm that they didn't charge my card. At that time they tell me that the booking is still on. When I arrived at the hotel, the elevators were not working. With a knee problem, I had to tug my bag from the basement to the first floor and then use another flight of stairs to the second floor. With the railway just right next to this making loud noise, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. The hotel looks like a motel 6 converted to a Hilton, charging $350+ per night. Please stay away, for your own sake.
This hotel was so comfortable and accommodating. I literally did not have to leave if I did not want to. I would request a few more vegan options be available to guest in this area. Overall a really good stay. If I had to come here for work in the future I know where I'd love to stay. Not to mention it was walking distance from Nick The Greek which was the cherry on top!
I booked this hotel months ahead for our daughter’s graduation. I am handicapped and booked a room with a roll in shower. The day before our arrival I received a call saying that the elevator to our room was broken but they had a handicapped room with a tub on the first floor. I said that was fine and that we were checking in after 10 pm after flying in from Virginia. We arrived on the 14th at approximately 10 and were told that they had no room for us because both elevators were broken. I’m sure they had given our handicapped room to someone else. This is the 2nd time of staying there for us. The first time we had to switch to another hotel because of the smell in the room. Thank goodness I found a Residence Inn with a handicapped room in Davis, but it was 8 miles away rather than downtown. I will hesitate to ever stay in a Hilton again. Do not trust this hotel.
