Loved it! Great quality food, very fresh. Very generous portions. One thing: my friend ordered a souvlaki dinner, and had to pay an extra $3 for Tzatziki. I grew up in a Greek neighbourhood. Tzatziki is a stable, a small serving should be included in the price of a meal.
Needs more consistency. First things first..............I have always loved going for dinner at the Goat. Since I don't live in Dawson it is always a treat to go there when I'm in town.<br/ <br/ That being said I went there last Monday night as I am in town for the week. Monday is pizza only, which is fine, I love their pizza. But the service and food on Monday was not very good. We arrived at the restaurant around 6pm. There were 6 other people in the restaurant at the time. We ordered our pizza and then we waited and waited and waited. The waitress did not come over at any time to let us know why it was taking so long. 1 hour and 15 minutes later our pizza finally came. We were very hungry at this time and really excited to finally eat our meal. Well, the pizza was not hot. And the bottom of the crust was all soggy. It felt like it had been sitting out for at least 20 minutes. I was super disappointed. We ate our pizza and left.<br/ <br/ We went back to the Goat last night (Wednesday) and the service and food was amazing. It was a different waitress last night and she was wonderful. The food was so delicious (and hot).<br/ <br/ I'm not sure if Monday was just an off night for them. I hope that is all it was. I will come back to Goat again the next time I'm in town and I hope we get the same level of service as we did last night.
They have not listed any GF menu or options, but the server could tell me what would be safe or changeable. I just wanted a big juicy Greek salad and that was simple and tasty. that was eating out quickly and I didn't get sick. had a celestial.
The server told me the chef does not believe in dietary restrictions (lol) but that said, it seemed as though the souvlaki was grilled separately and the potatoes were safe. The rice and Greek salad dressing is not, so I had it with oil and vinegar. I was disappointed with the Greek salad (one single olive), but the chicken and potatoes were great. I didn't get sick but I'm not sure I would risk it again!
