Gem City Catfe - Dayton

I had an amazing first time visit to this restaurant! The coffee was delicious, the staff was incredibly friendly, and the cats were adorable. The atmosphere was cozy and peaceful. I will definitely be returning. I recommend trying the brown sugar cinnamon latte with oat milk when you visit!

Fun experience, great staff and tasty oatmeal cream pies!

They were so nice to my son. He loves cats but had never been around one. I thought this would be a good idea to try before committing to being a cat mom. They taught us all the proper way to interact with the kitties and made sure to answer any questions my son had. They were so patient with him. It was very clean inside and oh my goodness I'd throw hands over that banana bread lol. Loved my Boba drink as well. We will definitely be back. Parking: Parking is plentiful in the back of the building just spin the block down the alley.

I got the dirty chai latte and cheese danish! The attendant was very pleasant and gave me some good recommendations on what to try. She also told me a bit about the catfe and the history of it. It was a pleasant conversation for the morning. The dirty chai latte is definitely different from most other places I’ve had it. It has a bold somewhat slightly spicier taste to it because rishi leaves are used for the brewing, I’d say it tastes more like authentic Indian chai! The cream danish was good too! The place was nicely decorated and had a very nice vibe to it. Also loved seeing the cats and kittens! I there are 16 there at the moment ready to be adopted!

The whole idea behind a Catfe is amazing to me and I’m so glad that there’s a local business that executed the premise so well!! Admittedly if you get in and don’t understand the process it could be a bit overwhelming. But pretty much you order your food, tell the cashier you want to spend time with the cats and it’ll be a $10 charge per person (they got to feed the cats somehow) and they’ll have you sign a liability waver then boom! You’re in an airlock with cats for a whole hour! Service was great and extremely helpful throughout the whole process. They’ve also got fantastic coffee so you don’t have to worry about the quality dropping from having cats around. Parking: There’s parking around back, and by the looks of it there’s plenty! If that’s too difficult to find there’s plenty of street parking.
