You can choose any salad, which is a great perk, and the Vanilla Fields salad was delicious! Make sure to arrive early because they don't accept reservations, and there's usually a wait to get in.
We had an incredible breakfast. We ordered the steak and eggs, and the steak was cooked to perfection. It was so delicious that it brought us to the brink of tears. We also tried the eggs benedict, which were fantastic as well. However, the highlight of our meal was undoubtedly the service provided by our new favorite waitress, Madison. She exuded a pleasant and calming energy that made the delicious food taste even better. The charming, old-fashioned atmosphere of this wonderful restaurant is something we will cherish for years to come.
Our server, Jesse, was fantastic—very polite and attentive. The food was excellent, prepared exactly as we requested, and incredibly flavorful. It was definitely worth the money. I really enjoyed the building and the cozy atmosphere of the dining area downstairs.
Without a doubt, this is the best steak in Deadwood. We make it a point to dine at this restaurant every time we visit. The steaks are expertly aged and cooked to perfection every single time. The side dishes are fantastic as well. Even the salads that come with the meal are substantial enough to be considered a meal on their own, and they're thoughtfully prepared. The staff is incredibly friendly, particularly the hostess we encountered during our last visit. They even offer alternative dining options at other places if you arrive too late to secure a table. A word of advice: if you don’t arrive around 4 PM, be prepared to wait for a table, as they don’t take reservations. While the entrees may be on the pricier side, they're worth every cent. I have never left here feeling dissatisfied. I would have snapped a better photo, but the meal was too tempting to resist as soon as it was served.
We dined here shortly after they opened years ago, and I ordered the Lobster Benedict. Unfortunately, it had just a tiny piece of lobster, and the eggs were overcooked. Yes, the eggs were overcooked—on one of their most expensive breakfast items! Recently, I’ve heard people raving about their food, so we made several attempts to revisit, but either they were closed or not taking names. This morning, we decided to give it another shot for breakfast, this time choosing the steak and potato Benedict. Wouldn’t you know, the same issue arose—overcooked eggs again! If you're a fan of Benedicts, you understand how disappointing this is. If they can’t manage to cook something as fundamental as an egg, it’s hard to have faith that the rest of their dishes will be any better. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was nice, but at a higher price point, one would expect properly cooked eggs.
