Bistro Associates - Decatur

My experiences here have been uneven from the time they first opened, but everyone seems to like the food, so I give it another try from time to time. No more. They shouldn't put eggs Benedict on the menu if they can't poach an egg. Mine arrived so underdone that the whites ran clear. When I sent them back, they came back to me with hard-cooked yokes in the clear slime of left on the plate from before. Really disappointed.

Our server Christina was amazing! The food was really great as well! We came for a Valentines Day date and the whole experience was good. We were greeted with a smile by the hostes and seated shortly after we arrived.

For over 15 years, Cafe Lily has been our local go to restaurant in City of Decatur to celebrate special occasions. I’m sad to say that’s no longer the case. I don’t know if management has changed, but It hasn’t been the same the last few visits and last night was the final straw. The half portion options for pasta dishes are no longer offered, and the serving of the much loved grilled bread was skimpy compared to before. Service has always been hit or miss: either terrific or mediocre. This time less than mediocre: no pleasantries, never asked if we wanted a second glass of wine, entrees served well before appetizer was finished, and the entree plates were removed before we had even finished our last bites. We ALWAYS get dessert but did not do so because the experience was so disappointing. Sad for a once fantastic place for a special dinner out.

We had reservations for my partners birthday dinner. We were seated in front of the waiters station and the kitchen entrance( very loud). I went to the Maitre D and asked to be moved. The very young woman immediately got frustrated and told me she would have to get the manager. A woman named Selena came over and immediately got very snarky and sarcastic with me as she said I should have come to her in the first place. I didn’t know why she was so upset and rude. I explained that I had made reservations for my partners birthday dinner days in advance. Meanwhile a couple ahead of us with no reservation we’re seated at a table in the front of the restaurant. After much back and forth banter we were finally seated a more quiet corner of the restaurant. Our waiter was very good but the food left much to be desired. My Risotto was undercooked and crunchy. We didn’t stay for dessert. We spent just over $100.00 and the food was not very good but the management and customer service left a lot to be desired. Never received an apology from Selena for her rude behavior and ruining our dining experience. Will be hard pressed to return for a second visit.

I chose this restaurant for our daughter's Birthday dinner last night, we arrived a little early, were seated quickly, and had amazing service! Courtney was fantastic, we took part in wine specials of the day, and enjoy the mezze platter, seafood pasta, special of the day black drum, mussels, and goat cheese ravioli. and for dessert a surprise treat of Lemon Bread, we also had hazelnut cake, soo good. I was a little leary reading some of the reviews but can attest as a HUGE foodie family, we would recommend Cafe Lily and will be back! I especially am thankful that with it being a special occasion they took such great care to make it extra memorable, every single person that refilled glasses, delivered wine, or cleared items, was so kind and friendly! Keep up the great work,
