Costi's Famous Fish Cafe - Dee Why

Freshly grilled barramundi was dry and the lady serving was so very rude I wanted to walk out. I will never go back and would not recommend this place to anyone.

In Dee Why Grand Shopping Center on the ground floor is Di Costi fishmonger. They selling a huge variety of good quality seafood, but not for the lowest price. If you want to pay less, go to Coles or Woolworth. These supermarkets ask for less, but you can't have the mouth watering fish and chips, that Di Costi offers to you. The choices are Grilled Salmon with Chips and a choice of Salad, Grilled Swordfish with Chips and Salad, Grilled Barramundi, BBQ Octopus, Chips and Salad, Salt and Pepper Calamari, Mixed Grills, Classic Battered Fish, and Chips and a few other possibilities, all cooked fresh in front of you. The cheapest and most popular deal is Fish, Chips, and Drink for $5.- You can eat it there, or take it away. When I said " fast" in the title of my review, it isn't always true, since in lunch time, sometimes a long queue is waiting to get their meal. We prefer the takeaway since we live nearby, and to find a seat isn't always easy. Last time the fish that I've got was so big, that I had to give half of it to my friend because I couldn't cope with it.The service is always cheerful and friendly, the fish is the freshest possible, and the chips is fried to perfection.

De Costi is a fishmonger which also supplies grocery chains like Woolworths so they are a reasonable size. This one is in the basement (ground level) of the Dee Why Grand so very convenient to people who live nearby. I tried their bottom-line Fish & Chips which includes fresh salad for $7 and found it was a satisfying main meal for dinner. They offer a number of other options eg Barramundi or Calamari so altogether there were at least 12 alternative menus. But I will go back for more of this one.
