The service is wonderful. The owners are very informative of what is happening in the area. Try one of their homemade sandwiches which are very delicious.
We try to buy locally so the fact that they have extensive hours and are full service helps us buy locally. They are also supportive of our B and B.
If you're looking for a surprising and delicious dining experience, look no further than this restaurant located at a gas station in the Ottawa Valley. Despite its unconventional setting, the menu here is top-notch and offers a variety of healthy options. Owned and operated by Mary, the food is made from scratch using as many local ingredients as possible. The dishes are reminiscent of home-cooked meals, prepared with love and care for the customer's well-being. Don't miss out on this hidden gem - be sure to visit before it becomes too popular to snag a seat. And don't forget to grab some frozen dinners and desserts to enjoy at home! You won't be disappointed.
I have had breakfast at the Wilno Station & Country Kitchen on two occasions and both times it was a wonderful treat. On my last visit, I had the French toast and my partner ordered a traditional breakfast on a waffle, which came with three meats (bacon, pea meal and sausage) and home fries. (I swiped a few of his home fries....so good!)I commented to both our server and the lovely lady who made our breakfast that our breakfasts were presented beautifully. After all, we eat with our eyes first, so presentation is important. The food did not disappoint. Delicious and filling. The bonus for me was that they served REAL maple syrup with the french toast, and not terrible pancake syrup which is the usual offering at most breakfast places. I cannot tell you how important this is to me! Even the coffee was good enough to comment on....they serve Madawaska Coffee Co. and it was so good that I went to the roastery to pick up a bag of beans later. Refills were free and plentiful. The restaurant area is bright, nicely decorated with the work of local artists, and there are even fresh flowers on the tables. The open kitchen is clean and gives the feeling that you are enjoying your meal at a friend's place. Really lovely.Overall, I think this is my new favourite breakfast place in the Madawaska Valley area. Don't hesitate to stop and enjoy some wonderful Valley hospitality when you are in the area.
