Staying at the motel for a couple nights, the free breakfast was good and served in a timely manner so I decided to coming back for wing night. They were understaffed like everywhere else now a days. The place was incredibly busy but the few...servers they had did an excellent job and in the best of moods. The wings were spot on and the beverage was cold. Will definitely be eating here again on my way through deer lake. As soon as a table had left they were quickly( but diligently) cleaning and getting the next in line in for a seat. Props to the folks working there for sure.
Whether you need a snack, breakfast, or big meal, this restaurant in Deerlake will fit the bill. A friendly staff greets you with a smile and will make certain you are well fed. A good selection on the menu, typical of the local offerings and...properly prepared. Twice in three days I have had the fresh Caesar salad, (dressing on the side)and seafood chowder. It is accompanied by a fresh bread roll. Yummy. My husband ordered a clubhouse sandwich the first time and Taco salad the next time. Of course he had fries. We’ve had breakfast as well and it included bologna and beans a Newfoundland favourite. Not fancy, but clean and appetizing.
After three hours on the road we decided to pull in here for a little family lunch. Service was ok nothing to scream about. The food was average and waited for ever to get check. This must have been a bad day as our last...visit was better.
On Friday August while travelling west towards Gros Morne National Park my wife and I stopped for lunch at Deer Lake Motel Restaurant located at Trans-Canada Hwy in Deer Lake NFLD. This place is in a very convenient location, open hours...with free Wi-Fi, and is a casual sit-down type restaurant and not a fast food place. From its varied menu, my wife chose a small Caesar salad with grilled chicken while I opted for the seafood clam chowder with a western sandwich. Both of our lunches were delicious, the portions were generous and tasty, and the prices were very reasonable. That afternoon the restaurant was a bit busy, but we did get served quickly by our friendly server. We would recommend this place as a great pit stop when heading to or returning from Gros Morne National Park. We would rate it as a four out of five stars.
