Hideaway Pub - Deer Lake

We were looking for a restaurant... it wasn't the place but I must admit that we found the place more than fun. People are very kind and have advised us a restaurant. If you want to go to the terrace, the square seems to be quite ordinary, but it is a reflection of Newfoundland's culture...ENJOY!

Stopped by for a couple of beers early on a Saturday night. If you like the old style, unformal, rough bar atmosphere this is the place in Deer Lake. It is a bar, not a restaurant. No fancy-pansy in her, just plain ole great atmosphere. All smiles, and no trouble at all. Loved it there!

Always a good time at the hideaway. It is a great place for private parties even though it is a bit small if you have a large crowd. the staff are friendly and funny. Karaoke night is the best!

I paid $8 to have a cab take me here from the Deer Lake Hotel because of the excellent reviews that I read on Trip Advisor. I was shocked when I walked through the door. This is a bar/pool hall/ casino. The people that have previously reviewed this place are no doing the customer or establishment any justice. The bartender actually apologized and recommended another restaurant. Cost me another $8 to drive around the block.

Was surprised when the waitress informed us (after we ate and drank) that they only accept cash. Fortunately we had enough between us. Not a great beer selection and the food selection is minimal at best. I don't recommend this place.
