Shoprite Of Deer Park

I've been coming here since they opened and I have no complaints. Everyone is very nice and helpful. I love the look of the place especially thinking back to the former supermarket that was here. I'm so happy to see that they keep up with their produce and everything always seems to be fresh. BUT the highlight of this shoprite is the donut station ... The fresh donuts are so good! Every week I pass on them but today I was pressured into trying one lol and now I'm going home with a bag. They are yummy. Once they are done frying up the donut they pack them in paper bags. 12 donuts for $2.99!

Many cashiers are completely inefficient, like they are in a trance. Especially in the evening. Frequently Not enough registers open. It takes me longer to checkout than to shop.

I think the use of black for the ceiling is very depressing and it would have been much better if white was used. It now feels closed in and unfriendly. Gary Wolf

In this store they were trying to sell expired yogurt for a sale price. I noticed that the noosa yogurt that was on sale for $1.49. They were all expired by a few days. Once I brought it to someones attention, Marty who is the manager of that department came by in an angry way and took all of them off the shelf once I told him they were expired. He then tried to explain that they sometimes send expired products. BS I then asked for the manager who's name is JOHN. I wanted a raincheck on the sale price. I was told NO because it wasn't on sale in the circular. Which leads me to believe they were TRYING TO SELL EXPIRED YOGURT TO CUSTOMERS WHO WOULD NOT CHECK THE DATE. John was very nasty and customer service doesn't exist in this location.

YES Gary W. !!! You are spot on ! This place looks like a nightclub now. What were they thinking? So gloomy. It was better when it was WHITE and bright. I have been going there for decades. You know what else changed? They no longer make Italian bread. You could always count on nice fresh Italian bread, both the normal kind long and seeded and the shorter but FAT wide type seeded. Now they have NEITHER ! The normal type is NOT Italian bread anymore. No seeds on it, it is much skinnier and the worst part is DENSE like French bread and not airy at all. Taste is way off too! This place has gone downhill fast. I think the owners lost their taste or went insane. The Bakery is gone and not just moved to the front of the store. No way the same recipes or people used for baking any longer. Just plain AWFUL !
