Harbor City Lunch - Deerfield Beach

Pulling up to Harbor City Lunch, my dining companion and I had a second of hesitation. After all, the building is not new, and sits off of a side street of Dixie Highway. If ever there had been an opportunity to learn the lesson about judging a book by its cover, this was it. Inside, seated at the small counter, my companion and I ordered two delicious lunch subs: his a pastrami club and mine a tuna on white. The french fries were also crisp and delicious. The best part of the whole adventure, aside from finding a new lunch joint, was meeting the owner. His repartee was nearly as good as his food. Listen, in life we must make our own adventure. Branch out. Find that new little hole in the wall. Shop local. If we had decided that the outward appearance of harbor City lunch reflected what was contained within, we never would have stopped. Thank goodness we did.

What a hidden gem! Don't be fooled by the outside! We used to live right around the corner and always enjoyed grabbing a sandwich when we were next door at the laundromat. I moved 20 minutes away and still have to go back to get lunch there! The lunch special is unbeatable, and the sandwiches are always out of this world! Oh, and the fries!!! The fries are perfectly hot and crispy every time!! When my family comes to town, they always ask when we are going to Harbor City! Stop reading and just get there!!
