The service was stubborn. They answered all our questions and made sure we had everything we needed. We tried everything. The Guac, green and red salsas were a little on the vinegar/sour side, but the tacos were well complicated. Our favorite tacos were: pig bell, duck, chicken/chorizo, followed by cauliflower, carne asada and baja fish. The whole meat was very delicate, well seasoned and crispy. The Elots were amazing. Authentic and with a beautiful heat. We followed him with the Tres Leches and important limecake desserts in the glass. They were crispy and airy and the coconut on the tres leches really delivered additional depth. Would definitely come back, but not wait too long. The waiting list we were at 7 was huge. Enjoy!
If I were to rate these 10 stars of 5. I went for the opening night was greeted by pleasantly enthusiastic staff. The food was amazing, and I ate all the best tacos. The atmosphere, the mood and the tones of the place make you feel refreshed. It is spaciously unique, unlike anything I have experienced on site. The light wall art is fantastic. The music is hip-audible, but does not interfere with the conversation. It adds to the attitude. The food is on the smaller portion side, so they always recommend 3-5 tacos, depending on the appetite. I think I tried five or six. The glazed pig bell is a MUST, and the tres leches churros are incredibly delicious. I'll be back! Thank you to MJ the incredible staff who helped to feel the customer at home. This place knocks out of the park!
I absolutely cannot understand why Bartaco has scored 3.5 stars. This place is amazing, and without a doubt it is a 5 of me. I read the folk reviews, and I think her problem was not the right concept to get. In addition, 'Mexicon' in a branch type can be a little misleading for some too, as people expect this MASSIVE Burritos and Chimichangas and stuff, but this place is not about it. Bartaco is located at the corner of the huge plaza, away from the shops. Even if they share the parking lot, there is plenty of space, no worries about it. The place is relatively new, as well as the building, so it is beautiful both inside and outside. I like the interior design with the high ceilings and the plants that hang from it everywhere. I also liked the way bar area is designed with these transparent head shelves and fresh juice presses around them. Service was very good, Hostess told us that there was a 20-min wait on the table (Monday Night), but the bar still had some spots, so we went there. I even liked it better, cuz I could see kitchen on my left, bartenders were always before me (if I needed something) and it was easier to see the whole place from there. Bartender explained how everything was set up, went through the menu and was super attentive. The food seems to be Bartaco's greatest advantage for me. Yes, these tacos are not the size of those you order in your local taqueria, BUT! so small, you can make it through the whole list and still have space for dessert. I had a hard day and was really hungry (Barkeeper usually told me it's about 3-4 tacos per person), so ended with 7 himself. All Tacos were unique to me, each one had its own character. For example, Falafil sorta tzatziki had sauce, Tuna was made on the salad leaf (with some excellent sauce) and Cauliflower was somehow cooked to perfection (even if I didn't get his secret, it was my personal fav). Oh and her homemade salsas, there were 3 of them on the table (Roja, Jalapeno and Habanero) and they tasted only Mmmmm.... Now pricing, with small plates and fees a bit per each can look tricky, but I'd rather overpay order bit by bit than something huge without ending it. In addition, there is a chance to go over many more items on the menu. Check-in for two was about $75 that was somewhat above our personal average, but considering Deerfield and cities around as municipalities with slightly higher average income per head, that is absolutely normal. Checkmate for anyone who rated 3. And thank you if you made it to this point! p.s. There is no tap beer, cans and bottles only. You don't accept apple money.
This is a beautiful casual place with an open airy feeling for it. It's a great date night spot! I loved the decor, modern and yet comfortable. The service was very good, our waitress was very attentive. She took the time to explain everything and answered all our questions. She was very patient, so we didn't feel any hurry at all. My wife and I only had the tacos, so I can only comment on them... they were great! Very tasty and damp, bursting with taste! Many things in the menu sound scrumbling, I will be back to try them all. At the end of the evening, the manager stopped at our table to talk to us. He was very personal and friendly. Talking to him was a nice touch before we were gone. He made us feel even more welcome and probably return.
Good restaurant with interesting and yummy tacos. Parking enough and free. Comfortable seating. Free match sticks for take out. Bar is present as well.
