Flower Child - DEL MAR

Food was really good. I love the mushrooms in the Mother Earth Bowl. I would have added extra if I had known they were so delicious. If youve got a big appetite I suggest getting some additional sides, though. Portions were very small. Signature Rose Petal Lemonade didnt taste like rose at all- just like regular lemonade. Simple Hummus was really good although I wish they would have added a little more olives on top- there was barely any. Gluten free pita with the hummus was also very good.

Portion sizes have gone down (specifically my go-to, the "Forbidden" Rice Bowl), while prices have gone up. Inconsistent preparation of food. Tasty but expensive and inconsistent means I dont order from Flower Child as much as Id like to.

As a serial door-dasher for years, I have to say that this is one of the most surprisingly excellent restaurants Ive come across. Stranded at the Del Mar Hilton without my wife--an excellent cook--I tried the caesar salad and added shrimp. The romaine was fresh, crunchy and chopped into perfect bite-sized nuggets. The shrimp was ample and cooked to perfection. Ordered again the next night--chicken yakisoba and two desserts. The yakisoba dish was spiced to perfection, accompanied by succulent chicken slices and, like the salad, fresh and crunchy veggies. To top it off, both the Lemon olive oil cake and chocolate chip cookie were delicious. Theyve got a good thing going here...Try it!

Steak was closer to well done, but flavour was good

The mother earth is sooo good and probably Real healthy too. All else is tremendous!
