Richard Walker's Pancake House

First time visiting this place with a friend. Did get a table right away and received ice water from the person who seated us. 1 of the glasses was dirty had food on the outside so when waitress showed up I asked her if we can get a cup without food on it. She said yes, can I take your order.... not even I 'm Sorry . Anyways I ordered strawberry crepes with fruit on the side. I got the fruit on side but no powder sugar on the crepes. They lacked flavor I was not impressedat all. I will say the consistency was spot on just needed to have flavor. Maybe a little more on the sweet side. My friend had pancakes side of hash browns which they were very good nice and crispy but pancakes lacked flavor and dry.Pricing not bad. I wonder if maybe other products would be good. Oh and just to top off the waitress never returned to ask if we were okay. I had empty glasses and I had to ask bus boy to please find my waitress to give us our check. Notimpressed at all. Sorry. Was hoping for more in Del Mar.

A great place to start your day with breakfast here. They serve up one of the best breakfasts I've had in Southern California. Before making our way back to L.A. decided to stop by and give their breakfast a try. I ordered their corned beef hash which was amazingly delicious the way they prepared with onions and grilled it to a devine crispy perfection of their very own. Along with a side of Hash browns 2 eggs over easy and a glass of freshly squeezed OJ, completed mymeal. My wife ordered the same just with 2 scrambled eggs and a side of wheat toast which was accompanied by whipped butter, and a raspberry jelly. Our daughter ordered their chocolate pancakes with a side of bacon. Everything wasdelicious and our server was extremely attentive. Service was excellent and friendly. Clean and organized. Once again I could give them 10 ????s, however will with a glad heart drop 5????s for this review.

Amazing spot for baked goods and breakfast, I think we found our favorite local spot for pancakes. The Granny Smith Apple Cakes with Pecans added were incredible. Coffee excellent, host forgot the bacon.. so couldn't opine on that, maybe next time. They have a birthday cake cake for kids, but Jasmine said it tasted like bread and not that great, so probably won't order that again. Still the experience was near perfect and the service was wonderful.

It's been a long time since I ate pancakes. So I went to Richard Walker's for a late lunch, and was surprised they were open and still serving food (it was after 2PM). Great selection of breakfast and lunch items on the menu. I tried 3 pancakes with 3 toppings (blueberry, strawberry, fermented cherry...all homemade fresh and tasty). My daughter had avocado toast, which was nothing special. Great iced tea. Ate outside in the warm sun. We decided to walk a couple of milesat Torrey Pines beach after such a big meal. Can't beat Richard Walker's pancakes and a brisk walk on to the beach.

Always our go to place for breakfast when we are in San Diego. We like this location more than the other 3. The service here is always friendly and accommodating, and our food comes out fresh and in a timely manner. You can?t go wrong with the German Pancake. It?s pretty large, so me and hubby share, but we order some eggs and bacon al a carte to complete it. For our 4 yr old, we have ordered the one, two, three! or the chocolate chippies for my daughter, and whilethey are good, she doesn?t really eat anything other than the eggs. And you can?t go wrong with the nice fluffy eggs here. So now we just order her some type of egg breakfast. I like the coffee here, but my husband doesn?t. See you nexttime Richard!
