Stillwater is a home run, from the beginning you are being seated with that heavenly view
Our food was not great, staff annoyed when we asked for salad dressing and utensils. Very expensive, low value
We are Monterey County natives that chose to celebrate our 39th anniversary at the iconic Lodge at Pebble Beach. The location can't be beat (on a sunny day). The view is beautiful. The service was excellent and the food was good to very goodMy wife had filet and lobster. She does not like rare meat so she went medium on the filet. She said it was more done than she preferred. Maybe they cooked it to true medium where everywhere else it is cooked too short and it's too red. She was disappointed especially because the glaze was very vinegary, not a true glaze. The lobster was very good though. I had scallops and it was very tasty. I would have it again. We both had a salad, both were delicious. Here was the biggest frustration- it was cold in the restaurant and freezing in the lobby/bathroom area. When we arrived, it was comfortable in the restaurant, then it got cold/drafty. It improved, then it got cold again. On a trip to the restroom, I commented to the front desk how cold it was, and they said they wear thermals. The front door was ajar, and going down the hall past the bathrooms, there was a door to the outside wide open creating a wind tunnel. How that affects the restaurant is unclear, but we kept putting on our coats (which is not what we want at dinner). When it would warm up, off went the coats, but here comes the cold again. Why one of the premier resorts in the West U.S. cannot manage their thermostat is beyond me. The waiter said it is a constant problem, and he was been there for a long time. Perhaps most of Stillwater’s patrons enjoy eating in the fridge, but we don’t. The Monterey Peninsula is cold outside. I know, I’ve lived here six decades. We don’t need it just as cold inside. We give the whole experience a 3.5. Without the cold issue we would give it a 4.3.
Stillwater at the Pebble beach Lodge is an icon. Overlooking the 18 hole of the world famous golf course, the scenery cannot be beat.Offering both indoor and patio dining, it’s the perfect place to soak up the ambiance. The food is well portioned and typically good quality. They have great cocktails too.But honestly, the food here takes second seat to the views Kid-friendliness: They’ll love it Wheelchair accessibility: Yes it’s accessible
