The interior is beautiful, and the sailboat theme is fitting for Gilligan's, reminding me of the classic show "Gilligan's Island." We visited two of their branches in Metro Manila because of their affordable meal options, so we decided to give this location a try! The place was quite empty before dinner, but it filled up quickly as the evening progressed. The chicken teriyaki (boneless) was delicious, sweet, and had a lovely fresh-off-the-grill aroma. I had similar thoughts about the inihaw na baboy, although it was a bit tougher. The crunchy pork sisig was tasty; however, it came without a sizzling plate and was enjoyable when crispy. That said, there were many pieces that were hard to bite into. I wouldn't recommend this dish to everyone, as chewing on such tough meat could be unsafe for some. I suggest testing the chicharrón to ensure it's up to standard before serving. The iced tea and pepper soup that accompanied the meals were excellent. The service was quick, which was great!
The food and staff were decent. However, I was disappointed with the adobong kangkong. I didn't expect that I had only ordered the stems. I couldn't eat it. It's a shame I spent 95 pesos on just the stems of the kangkong.
The service was quite poor and extremely slow. I waited 30 minutes and still hadn't received my food. Additionally, they refused to honor the senior citizen discount without proper ID. I thought any valid identification showing the date of birth would suffice. This seems like a strange policy that could lead to customer complaints and potential legal issues for them.
Delicious food
Eating is good.
