Yan's Chinese Buffet - Delmar

The food is absolutely delicious! It's quick and convenient, and you can enjoy multiple dishes for a fixed price. One of the highlights is the soft-serve ice cream machine that offers both chocolate and vanilla, along with the sweet and delicious watermelon. Even though the decor might be a bit dated, there's something enjoyable for everyone.

Yan's is a perfect example of a small-town Chinese buffet. The food is outstanding and rivals, if not surpasses, that of the more expensive Asian restaurants in the Albany area, where we've tried many. The atmosphere is small and cozy, with a friendly family-run staff that is always welcoming (and quite busy!). While the buffet isn't extensive—keeping in mind it’s a small family-owned restaurant—the quality of the food more than makes up for it, and the options are quite satisfying. There is typically a lull in the afternoon around 3 PM between lunch and dinner, which may leave the buffet a bit depleted, but that's understandable as they prepare for the evening menu. It's a lovely, quiet spot to relax with friends and family while enjoying a comforting meal. They also offer a great take-out buffet option for those on the go. I highly recommend Yan's. My kids love it, and we enjoy delicious meals there nearly every week!

This is my favorite spot for a Chinese buffet. While it may not be the most glamorous place, you always know what to expect, and your expectations are consistently met. The food is of decent quality, comparable to any other Chinese buffet, and you can count on getting good value for your money. It's never so crowded that you can't find a seat, but there's enough activity to ensure the food stays fresh.

If you live in the area, you don't have to read a review of this place. It is difficult to describe why Yan's is so well loved, but it is still a classic Delmar institution. I would call it your typical cheap Chinese food, but it's not the same. Food can only really be described as Yan's, and for most people who are good. It's all you can eat buffet, you'll see someone you know, and someone you don't have at other tables every time you go, and the staff is probably immortal. They have a soft ice machine that has a lot of love over the years, making ominous breeding noises with every use. It's cheap and it's worth visiting in a strange way if nothing else. Minus a star because they used to have Yugioh stickers in a coin machine on the front and I will never emotionally accept his distance.

I totally recommend this buffet if you have a hunger for Chinese food but don't have much time for lunch! Love how fast you can get in and out. Fast turnover of the food in buffet dishes, so food tastes and looks fresh.
