Had lots of leftovers so cooked up a chicken breast at home next time and added-still good. Next was mixed vegetable sabhzi which again was nice mild spice and mix of cauliflower, carrots, green pepper and potato. Both were good but of the 2 dishes, I would get the sabhzi again. .. and then try another protein dish.
For those of us that enjoy samosas Bombay Joe's is difficult to beat. Our mains consisted of their chicken curry and butter chicken both were very enjoyable especially when accompanied by naan. Ladner village is a wonderful place to enjoy a summer's afternoon.
This is a small restaurant that appears to have lots of take out, as the seating area accommodates only about 20 or so folks at 5 tables and some at the bar area. The evening we went there was only one other group at the restaurant and 4 groups that had take-out, and it appeared that they did a delivery while we were there. A hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant that took us many years to get around to going to.The service was average and it took about 30 minutes to get our order to the table. Made to order and hot as it arrived at the table. Flavourful and delicious. We had jeera rice, butter chicken, chicken balti and lamb curry with Naan and roti. Serving sizes were plentiful. We did not leave hungry.
Very tasty, but no delivery. But the restaurant smells amazing! Fresh naan, minimal seating, hole in the wall kind of place, which is a good thing.
Did ownership change recently? Tonight I made my own curry for supper and we thought we'd add something authentic so we ordered some palak paneer, rice and naan to round it out. I was so hoping for beautiful aromatic basmati rice but instead we got something that tasted like Uncle Bens made in the microwave, palak paneer that was tasteless and watery and naan that was ok at best. Such a disappointment for something that's so simple. We should have made our own rice and skipped the rest. Certainly will not be eating from here again and it's sad because we love Indian food.
