Maguro Sushi - Delta

Stopped into Maguro for my favourite cheap lunch. It's called Sashimi Zen. You get four pieces of sashimi tuna salmon). A small order of agedashi tofu. A california roll and edemame beans. All of this for Very good quality sushi and aside...from the fact that you practically have to tackle the server to get a tea refill the service is good.

This place is well known for good selection and extremely fresh tasting sushi. This is our go to place and family from out of town always hope to go here. At this recent meal the staff took good care of us and adjusted to one...of the older guests needs. The food was excellent. I thought even more attention paid. There were good non sushi choices. One of our guests loved the beef. For me the dynamite roll, tuna karage , and salmon sashimi!

Very good Japanese food . Lots of parking and fairly nice decor. However, the place looks tired and needs updating. Tiles on the tables need to be replaced some are dirty!

I have been going to Maguro for years. I always held it in high standard as one of the best sushi restaurants in Ladner. I ordered a couple of pieces of sushi and there were only tables occupied in the restaurant. At minutes after being seated, I asked how much longer before my meal will be served. The server’s response was “ It coming” . By the minute mark, I told her that I could no longer wait. The server just simply gave me a glare and was not interested in following up with the kitchen staff or trying to correct the situation. Will never go back again. I agree with other posts. This restaurant has really gone downhill. So many other good restaurants in South Delta and more competition. They need to up their game.

We’ve eaten here a lot over the last years. The last time we ate here will be the last time. We’ve noticed the quality has gone down. The last time, I had California roll. The rice was...odd, the rolls didn’t taste very good. BUT,...the biggest problem was the service. I red’d my dinner, but my companion’s didn’t arrive until I was almost finished. Not good. So between the poor service and the poor quality food, we won’t be back anytime soon. There are other sushi places in Ladner, time to try one of them.
