Getting a reservation at this restaurant can be quite challenging; you'll need to call at least two weeks in advance. However, the staff was very accommodating and managed to fit us in despite being short-handed. The food was exceptional, making this a great discovery in such a remote location. They offer many delicious vegetarian options, and the desserts are simply fantastic! Additionally, there's a neat connection to our hometown of Huntsville, AL, as the chef at 1892 has previously worked here.
This is a very elegant restaurant with James Beard award-winning cuisine. There may be some delays between courses, but you are informed about that in advance. I really enjoyed the Beef Tenderloin and the Key Lime Tart. The wine selection is excellent; I chose a Cabernet.
